The Slow Turn
It has been a long time in coming. The years spent in conflict zones, politics, and war takes things from you. The noise of social media and its constant false anger that feeds peoples need of purpose. In it all we have all lost part of who we are, and we need to find our way back.
We live in boxes. Our food has become something prepackaged and easy to grab from a grocery shelf. Sitting down for a homemade meal is as old as that Norman Rockwell painting on the old Saturday Evening Post. We have lost the importance of one another; we have lost respect for ourselves. And unless it’s screaming on Fox News, CNN or Twitter, the stories are not important. It's a recipe of decay and self-destruction.
Over the past months all of this has been part of the discussion of The American Brand. The process of change has been like turning a ship... there has been a bit of oversteering, some rough water navigation, but in the end the wind is now at our back as we move forward.
The three pillars: Faith, Knowledge, Values. Those have been the foundations of The American Brand. They are the foundations of America.
Over the coming days, the transition begins. All of the past videos of politics are gone. The new website is taking shape. The focus is stories. The American Brand is as much a name as it is a metaphor to who we are, where we came from and how the stories we live shape the world. We each have a responsibility to live up to being American. We each have the challenge of living to our fullest potential. We each need to live our dreams.
Faith. Knowledge. Values. The foundations of who we are that become the rich fabric of stories that shape the world.
